The estimated shipping date is not yet confirmed. Low-profile mesh communication. Built for the rooftop. Low Rider puts solar-assisted mesh communication in a sleek, low-profile package designed to blend in on most vehicles. Quick-to-fit rubberized magnetic mounts make it easy to install, remove, or move between compatible vehicles. Easy on. Easy off. Designed to stay put. Rubberized magnetic mounts are designed to hold the node securely during driving while allowing quick removal when you need it. Mounting requires a suitable magnetic metal surface. More transmit power in a discreet package At its core is a Heltec T096 radio with nominal 28 dBm transmit power (approximately 630 mW), built-in GPS, and Bluetooth. Based on manufacturer radio specifications, that is about four times the transmit power of a standard, unamplified RAK4631 at 22 dBm (approximately 158 mW), and five times the nominal output of a Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V3 at 21 dBm (approximately 126 mW). These are radio-output comparisons, not range multipliers. Actual output depends on firmware and configuration; coverage also depends on antennas, terrain, and the surrounding network. Solar-assisted power A 6 W solar panel feeds an MPPT charge controller paired with a 10 Ah lithium-ion battery. The panel replenishes the battery when sunlight is available, helping support use away from plug-in power. Your choice of mesh firmware Low Rider can be flashed with either Meshtastic or MeshCore, so you can choose the firmware that fits your network.
